About Bryson Insurance
Bryson Insurance is one of Mississippi's largest and most respected independent insurance agencies. Because it is a full service agency, Bryson is well positioned to serve virtually any coverage need, including: Personal (Home and Auto), Commercial (Business and Professional), Bonding, Life and Health (Individual and Group), Workers' Compensation (Sales, Loss Control, Mod Evaluation and Consulting), as well as providing Employee Benefits, Hospitality Industry-specific coverage, and Risk and Wealth Management Services.
Founded in 1959, Bryson Insurance has a long history of growth and success through acquisition. Originally known as Bailey & Bailey Insurance, William Bryson joined the agency in 1971 and immediately began to pursue his strategy of acquisition. The agency quickly became a major player among multi-line agencies in Mississippi.
In 1993, William Bryson and son, Sam Bryson, purchased the agency outright. They began broadening the range of insurance services the agency offered and recruited qualified professionals to advance this strategy.
In 2003, Bryson Insurance acquired The Mutual Insurance Agency in Jackson. This pooling of resources gave Bryson even greater depth in personal lines insurance expertise. The agency continued its growth through acquisition in 2005 with the purchase of Davis & Goulet Insurance, and in the process solidified the firm's position as one of the largest independent insurance agencies in Mississippi.
In the last quarter of 2006, Bryson insurance further bolstered its position by acquiring two well established Mississippi insurance agencies: Bank Insurance in Hattiesburg and Shackleford Brothers & Fortenberry in Canton. The addition of these agencies more than doubled the company's geographic market area and represented Bryson's first significant expansion outside of Metro Jackson.
In 2007, the trend of geographic expansion continued with the acquisition of Delta WorkComp Group, a regional workers' compensation insurance agency and consultant. With a corporate office in Ridgeland (which was consolidated) and a field office in Atlanta, Georgia (which was retained), the acquisition of Delta WorkComp Group also broadened Bryson's scope of services to include a proven, holistic approach to addressing the continuum of complex issues associated with workers' compensation.
Today Bryson Insurance serves a wide range of customer segments, offering trusted guidance, a vast depth of product knowledge, and a team of experienced professionals unmatched in Mississippi.
