In the last quarter of 2006, Bryson insurance further bolstered its position by acquiring two well established Mississippi insurance agencies: Bank Insurance in Hattiesburg and Shackleford Brothers & Fortenberry in Canton. The addition of these agencies more than doubled the company's geographic market area and represented Bryson's first significant expansion outside of Metro Jackson. In 2007, the trend of geographic expansion continued with the acquisition of Delta WorkComp Group, a regional workers' compensation insurance agency and consultant. With a corporate office in Ridgeland (which was consolidated) and a field office in Atlanta, Georgia (which was retained), the acquisition of Delta WorkComp Group also broadened Bryson's scope of services to include a proven, holistic approach to addressing the continuum of complex issues associated with workers' compensation.
